Vipers SC stung Soltilo Bright Stars FC 4-0 in the semifinals of the Kansai Plascon Uganda painted, Uganda Cup.

The Kansai Plascon Uganda-powered club eased past Bright Stars on Saturday at the St Mary’s Stadium Kitende in front of an ignited crowd.

Two goals from Bright Anukani and one apiece for Yunus Sentamu and Karim Watambala ensured the Venoms first leg win.

Vipers’ road to shine (read Twaake) in the final to be held in Lira District, their third successive final looks certain unless Bright Stars pull a rabbit out of the hat in the second leg.

Back to the game, Vipers’ early pressure paid off in the 10th minute as Anukani struck from the spot after Milton Karisa had been fouled in the box.

At the 17th-minute mark, the Kitende outfit coloured the scoreboard again through a composed finish from Sentamu following an excellent Karisa cross.

Anukani then completed his brace in style after an excellent shot from his half of the pitch, to make it three for Alex Isabirye’s charges.

Karim Watambala should have made it 4-0 two minutes after the restart, but goalkeeper Hassan Matovu denied his close-range shot.

In the dying minutes, Watambala finally got on the score sheet with a penalty after substitute Cromwell Rwothomio had been fouled in the box.

The pair will meet again on May 30th for the second leg, to see who’ll meet one of Police FC or Adjumani Town Council FC, who are contesting the other semi-final.
