Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC made light work of 403 Brigade in their Round of 64 Uganda Cup clash on Friday, January 24, advancing to the Round of 32 with a 2-0 win in Napak.
Forward Usama Arafat was the star of the show, scoring both goals before the break to put the visitors in control.
Arafat’s first goal came 20 minutes into the match when he curled a beautiful shot into the top corner following a precise assist from Derrick Nsibambi.

The early strike set the tone for the game, as KCCA dominated possession and looked to break down 403 Brigade’s defence.
Seven minutes later, Arafat was at it again. This time, a fantastic pass from James Mubezi found the forward just outside the box, and Arafat calmly slotted home with a sweet left-footed strike.
His second goal doubled KCCA’s advantage and left 403 Brigade with little to show for their efforts heading into the half-time break.
The second half saw KCCA continue to control the game, but despite creating multiple chances, they could not add to their tally.
Substitute and Youngster Yian Gatbel almost made it 3-0 in the 58th minute when his powerful strike rattled the woodwork, but KCCA’s lead remained intact.
The visitors kept up the pressure, with Derrick Nsibambi finding the back of the net shortly after, but his goal was ruled out for offside.
In addition to Arafat’s heroics, the game also provided valuable minutes for KCCA’s younger players.
Brian Ijara and Sammy Ssebaduka came on during the second half, gaining some experience in a competitive environment.
KCCA’s 2-0 win ensured their progression to the next round of the Uganda Cup, where they will join other top sides such as Vipers SC, Express FC, URA FC and several other clubs that advanced from the round of 64.
Meanwhile, in other notable results, FUFA Big League teams such as Booma FC, Ntugasaze FC, Arua Hill SC, and Busoga United FC all fell short in their respective matches.
Rwenzori Lions edged Busoga United 2-1 thanks to an Arafat Baluku brace, while Mabira TC triumphed over Ntugasaze FC with a 1-0 win courtesy of a Siraje Amuza penalty.
