Uganda She Cranes Defeat Scotland in Practice Match Ahead of Netball World Cup

The Uganda Women’s Netball national team, the She Cranes, defeated Scotland in a practice match on Wednesday, 26th July 2023.

The match was held at the International Convention Centre in Cape Town, South Africa, ahead of the Vitality Netball World Cup, which will be held from Friday, 28 July to Sunday, 6 August.

In the first quarter, Scotland took the lead, 12-11.

However, the She Cranes came back strong in the second quarter, scoring 14 points to Scotland’s 12, to take a 25-23 lead at halftime.

The She Cranes continued to dominate in the third quarter, scoring 10 points to Scotland’s 6, to extend their lead to 35-29.

In the fourth quarter, the She Cranes pulled away, scoring 19 points to Scotland’s 18, to win the match 54-47.

This was the She Cranes’ second practice match ahead of the Netball World Cup. They previously defeated Barbados 54-33.

The She Cranes are in Group D of the Netball World Cup, along with defending champions New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago, and Singapore.

The She Cranes have appeared in three Netball World Cups, and their best finish was seventh in 2019.
