Kyaddondo have been docked three points and two goals after being found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in their 2-0 victory over Kkooki in the 2023 Masaza Cup.
The competition’s rules and regulations state that players who have played or ever played beyond regional league level are not eligible to participate in the Masaza Cup.
Kkoki lodged a complaint against Kyaddondo after it was discovered that Shafik Mavuma, who played for Nyamityobora FC in the FUFA Big League, had appeared on the match report for Kyaddondo.
The Masaza Cup organizing committee investigated the matter and found that Mavuma’s name had indeed appeared on the team sheet and even took part in the pre-game warmup session for Kyaddondo, in violation of the competition’s rules.
As a result, Kyaddondo have been docked three points and two goals, while Kkooki have been awarded three points and three goals.
The center referee, Nasser Mahammad, has also been sent to the FUFA Referees Disciplinary Panel for further investigation into why he changed the match report forms.
The committee also confirmed that player Hamza Ssempa had a valid license and is eligible to play for Kyaddondo in the Masaza Cup 2023.
The decision means that Kyaddondo have dropped to the bottom of the Masengere group, while Kkooki have moved up to fifth place.
