Uganda Tennis Association first Vice President Daniel Kyazze was full of confidence stressing that the assembled team will deliver gold.

“The preparations were good and we expect good returns. Also, allow me to thank Upenda Driving School who came on board as kit sponsors for the team and I urge other corporate companies to emulate them.”

The Bujumbura regional event is a qualifier for the African Junior Championship for under 14 and 16 scheduled for later this year.

Singles action of the fed-in system will be on for four full days to allow the competition to progress as normal but ensuring that every player win or lose, plays a match every day.

The 14 and Under individual tournament will count as a Grade 2 Tournament for the International Tennis Federation and Continental circuits of 2023.

There will also be open doubles events in both age groups and they will be played on a knock-out basis.

The Championship will culminate in a final country ranking which will be determined on the basis of accumulation of points in the singles of the boys and girls plus the doubles’ events.
