Ugandan Defender Gloria Namugerwa Stars in Congo

Ugandan defender Gloria Namugerwa had an incredible 2022/23 season with her club FCF Amani in the top-flight league in Congo.

Namugerwa, who is known for her calmness in defense and ability to win aerial deuls, joined FCF Amani from 2020/21 FUFA Women Super League Champions Lady Doves in 2022.

This season, Namugerwa helped FCF Amani to win the 2022/23 league.

The Commission Provinciale De Football Feminin De Kinshasa League has eight teams and they play on home and away basis.

Out of the 14 league games, Namugerwa started 11 games and came from the bench three times.

She scored two league goals and registered four assists. She was also named the woman of the match six times.

The former Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC captain won the 2019 CECAFA U-17 Women’s championship with Teen Cranes (Uganda U-17 Women’s National Team).

At FCF Amani, Namugerwa is the third Ugandan player currently at the team with striker Nuluh Nakyanzi and midfielder Sheebah Zalwango part of the team.

Namugerwa has featured for Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club and Lady Doves.
