KCCA FC climbed to the top of the Uganda Premier League table with a thrilling 4–2 victory over Calvary FC at Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Friday.

The Kasasiro Boys were in fine form, with goals from Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Umar Lutalo, Shafik Nana Kwikiriza and Herbert Achai.

Calvary replied through Lawrence Olaboro and Stephen Oriokot.

Ahimbisibwe opened the scoring in the 10th minute, and Lutalo doubled the lead four minutes later.

Nana’s strike in the 43rd minute gave KCCA a comfortable 3–0 halftime advantage.

Calvary pulled one back early in the second half through Olaboro, but Achai restored the three goal cushion with a 63rd-minute header from a corner.

Oriokot added a second for the visitors ten minutes later, but it proved insufficient.

The win lifts KCCA to 11 points from five matches, while Calvary remain second from bottom with just one point after four straight away games.

Next, KCCA travel to St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, to face Vipers, while Calvary host Entebbe UPPC.

Elsewhere, SC Villa returned to winning ways with a 3–0 victory over Buhimba United Saints at Royal Park, Butema, courtesy of a Reagan Mpande brace and an Aslam Ssemakula goal.
