Startimes Uganda Premier League side, URA FC, has announced the signing of Uganda Cranes international Enock Walusimbi.

The towering defender signed a two-year employment contract to join the tax collectors.

Walusimbi last played in the Ugandan league in 2022 with Express FC, a team he captained to their seventh league title.

The experienced defender nearly joined Vipers SC but the two parties failed to agree on personal terms and he has now finalized his move to URA FC.

He is expected to help stabilize URA’s defense and offer leadership at the back as the team targets to win the league.

Walusimbi is the club’s ninth signing in this transfer period, and he joins a team that is clearly looking to challenge for the title.

The other new signings include experienced goalkeepers Dennis Otim and Rodgers Omedwa, versatile midfielder Moses Aliro, and former UPDF captain Ibrahim Wammanah.

URA last won the league title in the 2010/11 season, and they will be hoping that Walusimbi’s signing can help them to end their decade-long drought.

Walusimbi has previously played for Express FC, Soltilo Bright Stars, Dundee United, Peterhead FC, among others.
