Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) started a familiarisation tour with key stakeholders in Uganda sports with the first stop at Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC).
In a meeting held on Monday afternoon USPA Executive was led by President Moses Alaysed Lubega while UOC had its head Dr. Donald Rukare.
The engagement had the two parties sign a memorandum of understanding on how best they can work together to promote the sports industry.
“The intention was to harmonize and hummer down grounds of relationship and engagement. We believe that equally as central stake holders in the development of sports, united we can make great strides,” Lubega noted.
UOC pledged to bridge the gap between sports federations and associations with media through a meeting which will have USPA, UOC and sports heads in the country under one roof.
“We need to see how best we can work together. The visibility will help athletes brand building and sports bodies to showcase what they have to potential sponsors,” Rukare explained.
The tour continues tomorrow with a stop at the Ministry of Education of Sports offices where the USPA Executive will engage with the State Minister for Sports Hon. Peter Ogwang who also happens to be the USPA Patron.
