Table Tennis President on why he shunned the NCS awards dinner

Just like other organizations, National Council of Sports held an end of year party that also doubled as an awards dinner.

The event had bosses of national sports bodies in attendance at the Lugogo Hockey grounds but two outspoken presidents shunned the event.

Uganda Boxing Federation’s Moses Muhangi and Uganda Table Tennis boss Robert Jjagwe didn’t attend hence Nnalubaale Sports contacting them to find out why.

“Yes I chose not to attend because as a matter of principle, I do not agree that NCS has money for a party when it does not have money to give to our National Federations for actual Sporting activities,” Jjagwe noted.

He added that Table Tennis is at zero release for Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 despite funds being ring fenced.

“So, how can I come to endorse a party for people to just eat and drink and then after we are told that the party cost over Ugx 50 million? It doesn’t sound right to me,” a fuming Jjagwe concluded.
