Uganda Table Tennis Association has sent off six players to compete in the 2025 ITTF African Senior Championship scheduled for 12th to 19th October 2025 in Tunisian Capital Tunis.
The team comprises three boys and three girls with Jonathan Ssenyonga captaining the mission, which also has David Odoi and Joshua Magaya.
On the girls’ side, the team has Parvin Judith Nangonzi, Jemimah Nakawala, and Judith Mirembe, with Coach Paul Mutambuze taking charge.
The contingent also has UTTA top leaders led by Association President Cyrus Mark Muwanga, who is attending the Africa Table Tennis Federation Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The team will compete in singles, doubles, mixed doubles, and team events at a championship which is playing a qualifying role for the London 2026 World Team Table Tennis Championship upcoming in April next year.
More than 25 countries including Congo, Egypt, Algeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Benin, and others. At last year’s championship, Uganda’s ladies finished in bronze medal position.
All the players that will finish in the top eight of each contest will represent the African team in London at the Centenary of the World Table Tennis Championship.
With the senior team hustling in Tunisia, the Junior team consisting of Joseph Sebatindira and Patience Anyango is also preparing for the World Hopes Week challenge that starts on the 13th to 19th of October 2025 in Sheffield, United Kingdom.
