The Victoria Pearls beat Qatar by 7 wickets for Uganda’s second win at the ongoing Kenya Women’s T20 Tournament in Nairobi.

Uganda’s second game and Qatar’s first in the quadrangular tournament was played at the GymKhana on Wednesday afternoon.

Uganda won the toss and like it was for the previous match against Kenya, the Pearls chose to field first.

In bowling Irene Alumo led with three wickets followed by Captain Consy Aweko and Sarah Akiteng with two each.

The good fielding delivered good results as the Pearls put the Qataris to the sword limiting them to only 54 runs all out.

When it came to batting, Uganda didn’t hold back collecting 55 runs for 3 wickets in 10 overs.

Vice Captain Janet Mbabazi with 23 runs on her back contributed the highest figure for the team.

Kevin Awino had another exquisite performance of 21 runs and keeping her wicket for the second game in a row.

The victory further boosted Ugandan camp ahead of their Thursday game against a tricky Tanzania.
