Vipers SC, the reigning champions of the Startimes Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda Cup, have officially entered into a partnership with Wakiso Hills WFC.

The partnership will see the two clubs collaborate in areas of technical development, club infrastructure, and marketing.

It was earlier reported that Vipers SC will own 90% of Wakiso Hills WFC but they have cleared the air. Vipers SC confirmed the partnership via their website.

“Vipers Sports Club informs its stakeholders and football family that it has entered into a partnership with Wakiso Hills Women Football Club”.

Wakiso Hills WFC recently earned promotion to the FUFA Women Super League after finishing second in the concluded 2022/23 FUFA Women Elite League.

The partnership with Vipers SC will give the club a major boost as they look to compete at the highest level of women’s football in Uganda.

The partnership is also a major coup for Vipers SC, who have been looking to expand their women’s football operations.

The club now has a ready-made team that can compete for trophies, and the partnership will also help to raise the profile of women’s football in Uganda.

The partnership is expected to be a mutually beneficial one for both clubs.

Vipers SC will gain a strong women’s team that can help them to achieve their continental ambitions, while Wakiso Hills WFC will benefit from the club’s experience and resources.

The partnership is also a sign of the growing importance of women’s football in Uganda.

The CAF has made it a mandatory for clubs that participate in its competitions to have a women’s team, and this partnership is a clear indication that Ugandan clubs are taking this requirement seriously.

KCCA FC have already confirmed Kampala Queens FC as it’s women’s team.

Vipers SC will represent Uganda in the CAF Champions League while KCCA FC will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.

These partnerships are expected to raise the profile of women’s football in Uganda and help to develop the sport at all levels.
