Vipers SC have completed the signing of right-back Grant Matsiko from Wakiso Giants on a two-year employment contract.
Matsiko is proven in the topflight, as he was also named in the Uganda Premier League team of the season at the Pilsner UPL Awards earlier this month.
“I am very happy to be here and I want to win a lot with this club because it’s an amazing club,” the defender said in his first interview with Vipers.
“I want to be a big part of this club and now, I have to level up and show another personality of me on the pitch because this is a demanding and ambitious club.”
Matsiko is Vipers’ fifth signing in the transfer window after David Bagoole, Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez, Luiz Otavio Santos de Araujo Tinga and Richard Matovu.
For the two previous seasons, he has traded at Vipers’ regional neighbors Wakiso Giants, where he excelled.
Previously, he was at Kigezi Homeboys, which he captained till 2021, before joining the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
Stiff competition with league and Uganda Cup winner, Ashraf Mandela, awaits Matsiko at the St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
