The 2022 Uganda Hockey calendar gave birth to a double double as Wananchi and Deliverance Church claimed both the League and Uganda Cup titles.
The oldest club in the country, Wananchi dominated the men’s category while Deliverance leapfrogged the rest in the females race.
In the Uganda Cup, Wananchi defeated Kampala Hockey Club Stallions as Deliverance stunned Weatherhead Gazelles in the respective finals.
For the long format, the Uganda Baati National league, Wananchi won with a six points margin over Kampala Hockey Club (38) and Weatherhead Hockey Club (34) in second and third places respectively.
In the women’s corner, Deliverance Church bagged the title unbeaten following 11 wins and a draw. In second and third positions were Wananchi Sports Club and Kampala Hockey Club.
