Weatherhead and Wananchi will renew their rivalry on Sunday when they face off in the second leg of the semifinals of the Uganda Cup.

The first leg ended 1-1, but Weatherhead go into the game as the favorites after their comfortable 5-3 league win over their rivals two weeks ago.

That win revived Weatherhead’s chances of winning the league, but it diminished Wananchi’s as they dropped down to third in the table standings.

Wananchi are now five points adrift of table leaders Kampala Swans, which leaves them with the Uganda Cup as their realistic chance for a major silverware this term.

Good thing for Wananchi faithful is that they are the masters of winning when it matters most.

They head into this game fresh from winning the Independence Cup, and they know they have all it takes to win this one.

The Green ladies will seek to eliminate Weatherhead, who have never won any major trophy.

The other semifinal will see Kampala Hockey Club Swans take on defending champions Deliverance Church.

Deliverance beat the same opponent in the finals last year, but they trail 5-0 heading into the second leg.

With their current form, KHC are expected to ease through to the finals, where they will face either Wananchi or Weatherhead.
