National Hockey League table leaders Weatherhead Hockey Club have lined up a friendly against their development side Weatherhead Titans.

With a League break to accommodate the National Schools Championships in Mbarara, the side is looking to keep their players in shape.

“Our next game will be against our title rivals Wananchi so, we need to prepare well,” Steven Jjuuko, Weatherhead interim coach said.

Tied on 15 points apiece, Weatherhead has a goal-difference advantage over defending champions Wananchi. The two will face off on 20th May.

Weatherhead lost four of their five encounters against the record champions last season.

However, Jjuuko noted that they learned from their mistakes and they are ready to regain the league’s bragging rights.

“We lost our heads at crucial times. We’ve picked our lessons from those losses and know why we lost to Wananchi.”

Tentatively, the friendly game will be played at the Lugogo Hockey Grounds over the weekend.
