The Basketball Women Zone V Championship tips off today on the day of love with two games on the menu at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

There will be no love lost in the second encounter that will feature Uganda Gazelles up against Kenya at 7:30 pm in a Valentine’s Day matooke-ugali derby special.

The akin to a petal and thorns sports affair from the two neighbouring countries will be the climax of day 1,  after the opening ceremony followed by the South Sudan and Egypt fixture.

Tournament hosts Uganda Gazelles have a full squad in camp and the side had a game situation practice today morning.

The naturalised Jannon Otto was the last piece of the puzzle for the 12 players who will put their bodies on the line at Lugogo for five days to raise the Ugandan flag high.

Rwanda who already qualified as Afrobasket hosts is another participating team in the five-team tournament.

Nnalubaale Sports will avail full game highlights and behind-the-scenes coverage of the tournament throughout the week starting this evening.
