Home Motorsport 2024 Enduro Championship Heats Up with Katende and Ssemakula Leading the Charge

The 2024 National Enduro Championship is gaining momentum with two rounds already completed. In the recent race in Kyotera, Jonathan Katende dominated the J1 class, showcasing his exceptional skills as Uganda’s top rider in the 65 main racing category.

Yasin Ssemakula continues to impress, securing his third consecutive win and confirming his position as a frontrunner for what would be his maiden title. With 60 points, Ssemakula currently leads the overall score chart, followed by Jason Burrows with 36 points.

Katende’s impressive performance in the J1 class has earned him 40 points from two wins. Despite missing the first round due to injury picked up in the main National Motocross championship round, he has quickly made up for lost time and is poised for a successful season.

The 10-year-old prodigy is a multiple title celebration this year including the Enduro Championship, mainstream Motocross racing and the Kenya MX65 category – where on 214 points, he currently holds a slender advantage over homeboy Kigen Mutuma.

Trailing Katende in second and third place of the Juniors category are, Adam Kabuye and Filbert Muwonge – son to two-time National Rally Champion Suzan Muwonge, with 32 and 30 points respectively.

As the championship progresses, stay tuned for more updates on the thrilling races and the talented riders vying for top honors.
