The 2024 Kabalega Rally, organized by UMOSPOC and MOSAC, is slowly shaping up to be an exhilarating event on the Ugandan motorsport calendar.

The event to be hosted by Hoima, the City of Oil will take place from November 22 to 24 with big names anticipated to battle for points.

With an intense rivalry in the National Rally Championship (NRC) standings, Jas Mangat at the top with 260 points will be out to consolidate his position.

However, he will face fierce competition from old rival and former NRC Champion Ronald Sebuguzi, who trails closely at 257 points on his back.

In third place is Dr. Mustafa Mukasa with 225 points, who still holds hopes for an upset if the top contenders encounter any issues on and off the track.

“We expect a weekend filled with thrilling races, strategic manoeuvring, and perhaps a few surprises from the challenging terrains of Hoima,” noted Jay Jackson Serwanga, the Assistant General Secretary.

Away from the top tier, in the Division 2 Championship, Didas Matsiko is leading the pack with 60 points, closely pursued by Isaac Ssozi at 59 points.

Edward Kirumira with 52 points is in third. Both Matsiko and Ssozi will be aiming for a strong finish to secure their positions atop the leaderboard, hence spicing up the encounter.

Since the Div 1, and 2WD titles are already clinched, their respective leaders will approach the rally with a focus on finishing strong and maintaining their standings.
