Beach Woodball World Cup: 43 players summoned for Team Uganda trials

Uganda Woodball Federation Technical Committee summoned 43 athletes to take part in the National team trials in preparation for Team Uganda which will compete in Pahang, Malaysia.

Ahead of the third Beach Woodball World Cup, 45 athletes (23 men and 22 ladies) were reduced to 43 after confirming a direct qualification for the 2022 MVPs Thomas Kedi and Joyce Nalubega, who take up two slots on the final squad for Team Uganda.

Athletes were selected strictly based on the previous year’s Beach Woodball rankings where the top 12 seniors (Men and Women respectively) were shortlisted together with the best 6 senior corporates (men and women respectively).

Technical also considered the latest Beach Woodball rankings for the 2023 season where at least the top 3 from each category were also shortlisted, making it 43 in total for the fight of Pahang, Malaysia air tickets.

The 43 best Beach Woodball athletes shortlisted will face a thorough test in a series of trials where the top five men and top five women will join the MVPS to make up a 6 Men and 6 Women Team Uganda.

The two days trials ( 18th March and 15th April ) will witness store singles and the store count accumulation where players with the least strokes in total shall be considered.
