Uganda Boxing National team, the Bombers endured a 1681 kilometres road trip to Dar es Salaam for the Zonal competition that boxes off tomorrow.

Six boxers, two coaches , a referee-cum-judge, a ringside doctor, a media person and two federation officials left Kampala on Wednesday by bus and arrived safely today, Friday at 11.30am.

Unlike the first group, Uganda Boxing Federation president Moses Muhangi is flying out today evening and is expected to have dinner with the Bombers.

The contingent is in Tanzania for the zonal competition involving 8 nations namely; hosts Tanzania, South Sudan ,Burundi, Eswatini, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Uganda.

This competition is a build up to forthcoming Commonwealth Games scheduled for July 28 to August 2022 in Birmingham, England.

“We kindly request for your prayers and support to emerge as champions out of this competition,” Muhangi urged Ugandans.
