Ugandan welterweight boxer Nuhu Batte has got off to a great start at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, outhustling his Nigerian opponent Abdulwahab Abdulramon and winning their bout via unanimous decision.
Using his longer reach and greater mobility, Bomber Batte was the aggressor throughout, and it eventually paid off as he overcame a first round deficit on all the judges’ cards to outscore the Nigerian over the next two.
Batte advances to the next round, and keeps his and Uganda’s medal hopes alive.
