She Cranes to battle South Africa in 5/6 Classification Game

Uganda’s national netball team, the She Cranes, has finalized its Group B game engagements with a 65-56 over Scotland at the Hydro in Glasgow. Throughout the campaign, the sixth-seeded She Cranes three teams including Wales, hosts Scotland, and Trinidad & Tobago, and lost to World number four Jamaica and the second seed New Zealand.

For position five or six, Uganda will today play South Africa that lost to England 54-58 in the closing Group A game at the Hydro. “We knew it was never going to be easy coming here. All the teams are strong. We played against the best and learnt our lessons for a better future,” said She Cranes head coach Rashid Mubiru.

The game against South Africa for fifth or sixth position is a repeat of the Birmingham games which Uganda won 54-48 with players like Irene Eyaru, Mary Cholhok and Shadia Nassanga impressive on the attacking end.

In other notable play-off games, Northern Ireland plays Trinidad and Tobago for 11th and 12 while Tonga and Wales will battle for positions and nine and ten.Malawi and Scotland will contest the battle for seven and eighth.In the semi finals, Jamaica plays Australia while England faces New Zealand.
