Melissa Akullu, Jane Asinde, Jamila Nansikombi and Perus Nyamwenge are the toast of Team Uganda after they completed a clean sweep on Friday July 24 with victory over Kenya in the women’s 3×3 basketball competition at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The easy 21-5 win over their next door neighbours and bitter rivals was their third of the day out of three, following earlier victories over a tough Jamaican outfit (18-17 O.T) and the Cayman Islands (21-7).
Having been pushed at the start in the morning, Coach Nick Natuhereza’s quartet completed their hattrick in great style. Uganda will look to continue their hot streak when they face Fiji and Australia on Sunday.
