Uganda’s U17 Women’s National Team, the Teen Cranes, have finished top of Group B at the CECAFA U17 Women’s Championship after a dominant 4-0 win over South Sudan on Thursday.
It was a perfect group-stage run for Uganda, who made it three wins (against Djibouti, Zanzibar and South Sudan) out of three to finish on nine points.
Shadia Nabirye and Justine Ayerango led the charge, scoring a brace each to seal a comfortable victory and show Uganda’s attacking strength throughout the match.
Uganda controlled the game from start to finish, pressing high and creating chances with ease, leaving South Sudan with little room to respond.
The result confirms Uganda as Group B leaders ahead of South Sudan, who finished second.
