Kampala City Beach Soccer Club have once again ruled Uganda’s beach soccer scene after retaining the FUFA Beach Soccer League title with a 5-2 win over St Lawrence University BSC in the 2025/26 final at Bamboo Gardens Beach Soccer Arena, Kasanje.
The victory crowned another dominant season for the defending champions, who showed consistency from start to finish and once again proved too strong when it mattered most.
Kampala City Beach Soccer Club topped the regular season standings with 33 points from 14 matches. They won 11 games, scored 81 goals and conceded 36, finishing ahead of St Lawrence University BSC, MUBS BSC and Mutoola BSC, who all reached the playoffs.
In the semi-finals, Kampala City BSC swept past Mutoola BSC 8-4. Edweu Godfrey stole the show with six goals, while Nkuubi Brian added two more. Mutoola’s reply came through Kirya Samson, Nsenge Paul (two goals) and Mukwata Peter.
St Lawrence University Beach Soccer Club booked their final place with a 5-3 win over MUBS BSC. Ssimbwa Swaleh and Lukyamuzi Paul each scored twice, while Kikambi Martin added another goal.
MUBS BSC later finished third after beating Mutoola BSC 4-2 in the playoff, with Bingana Malik and Mbabazi Worrick Joe scoring twice each.
The final saw Kampala City BSC finish the job. Opuuli Sharif and Edweu Godfrey both scored twice, while Hassan Ali added another as they sealed a 5-2 win. St Lawrence’s goals came from Kikonyogo Jonathan and Lubega Sharif.
At the end of the season, Opuuli Sharif was named Most Valuable Player. His teammate Edweu Godfrey finished as top scorer, while Omedwa Rogers was named Best Goalkeeper. Zzinda Ali of MUBS BSC won Best Coach, and Mengo Hill BSC were recognised as the Fair Play Team.
The Team of the Season included Omedwa Rogers, Apuuli Sharif, Edweu Godfrey, Mukwata Peter, Ssendi Joseph and others who stood out in a competitive campaign.
