Uganda National women’s football team (Crested Cranes) star-midfielder Joan Nabirye has wrapped a deal with Belarus outfit FC Minsk.
The club, on Wednesday, unveiled the rock-solid midfielder on a two-year employment contract, that will run at least till 2025.
She leaves a FUFA Women’s Super League champion, having helped Kampala Queens WFC clinch the title, which is their first in history.
Nabirye had only joined the Queens in January, in a rather controversial style, as She Corporate claimed to have had her signature first.
She has previously played for Asubo Gafford and Kenya’s Vihiga Queens, a side she left in December 2022.
Several Crested Cranes players are plying their trade in Europe, including Fazila Ikwaput, Juliet Nalukenge, and Fauzia Najjemba among others. Nabirye joins the lot.
