Newly established Shammah Queens Mityana FC completed the signing of former Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC head coach Edward Ssozi Kasozi as the head coach on a two year contract.

Upon his unveiling, the gaffer told Nnalubaale Sports that he was attracted by the club’s ambitions.

“I am a principled coach who wants to work with a team with bigger targets. It wasn’t an immediate ‘YES’ because I had to know the targets of the club before I agree on terms.” he stated

“After several meetings and consultation, I agreed to join Shammah Queens Mityana FC and I believe we’re going to do a great job and make history in women football.” He added

“Next season, the team will play in the Buganda Region League but of course our target is to help the team play in FUFA Women Super League and to be the best club in the country. I’m happy to be here and I am ready to work.” Kasozi concluded

Kasozi joins his former CEO Ivor Sempa Kimbugwe who also left Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC at the end of the season and joined Shammah Queens Mityana FC last month.

During his time at Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club, Kasozi guided the club to it’s maiden FUFA Women’s Cup title, the club’s first competitive title in their history.

It’s also believed that more former Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC staff members will soon join Shammah Queens Mityana FC.
