The Uganda Boxing Champions League (UBCL) returns to Lugogo Indoor Arena on Saturday, May 7, for Week 12 of the competition.
In addition to the usual excitement of professional boxing, this week’s event will feature a new twist: models will be on hand to spice things up.
Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) President Moses Muhangi announced the development, saying, “We have a strong belief that we must synchronise the art and science of boxing with already existing arts like music, fashion, modeling, comedy among others. That is the way forward.”
The models will escort boxers to the ring and carry placards announcing the rounds.
There will also be a 30-minute break during which the models will showcase some of the latest designs on the market.
In addition to the fashion show, there will be 12 fights on the card, including a welterweight title fight between Ukasha Matovu of Lubya Boxing Club and Owen Kibira of Lukanga Boxing Club.
Tickets for the event are available for purchase at the following prices:
- Ordinary: 20,000 UGX
- VIP: 50,000 UGX
- VVIP: 100,000 UGX
