Uganda will face regional rivals Kenya U17 Women’s National Football Team in the next round of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after a confident display against Zimbabwe in Kampala.
The Uganda U17 Women’s National Football Team secured their place with a 4-1 win in the return leg at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba on Saturday, completing a 6-1 aggregate victory.
Uganda started fast and took the lead in the 10th minute when Brendah Nassaka struck from distance. The hosts stayed on top, controlling the game and creating chances.
Immaculate Acen missed a penalty midway through the first half, hitting the post, but recovered well to score from close range minutes later. Giovanna Aketogwanga added a third before halftime, putting Uganda firmly in charge.
Terry Mora Oseko sealed the win in the second half, while Zimbabwe got a late consolation through Shantel Gwenhamo.
The result sets up a highly anticipated clash with Kenya who put out Namibia.
