Olympian Catherine Nanziri will be making a fifth professional fight against Tanzania’s Egine Kayange at the MTN Arena, Lugogo on August 19.
Nanziri, who only turned pro in 2022, has already had four fights at this level with a 100% winning record.
She has since beaten Tanzanian natives Husna Zamba bad Sandra Mohamed.
She has also managed victories over Kenya’s Nicholine Achieng and Uganda’s Salimat Tibesigwa.
Meanwhile, Nanziri’s opponent for August, Kayange, ranks number one amongst the female boxers in Tanzania.
Kayange is also more versed than Nanziri as she had her maiden pro-fight in 2019.
Out of her 12 fights at this level, she has managed eight victories, with the latest of her wins coming against Halima Bandola in Dar es Salaam in May 2023.
Nanziri and Kayange will be vying for the ABU African Women’s Bantamweight title, in a 12-round fight.
