The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has announced the raising requirements in club licensing standards.

The amendment shall carry on Men’s and Women’s Club Licensing Regulations, taking effect with the 2025/2026 football season.

Moving towards the implementation Club Licensing System and the Technical Master Plan to raise Ugandan football quality, FUFA has raised technical and administrative requirements.

This has come in the follow-up of a capacity-building programme series aimed at boosting the quality and quantity of football coaches and administrators.

In resolutions made, the Uganda Premier League (UPL) clubs are mandated to appoint Head Coaches with a minimum of CAF A Coaching license.

For FUFA Big League (FBL), clubs will be required to have Head Coaches with at least a CAF B Coaching Diploma.

Meanwhile, for the FUFA Women Super League (FWSL), only coaches with a CAF B Coaching Diploma will be eligible for head coach roles.

Administratively, UPL clubs are tasked to contract CEOs with FAMACO III certificate while Women Super League and the FUFA Big League CEOs must hold a minimum of a FAMACO II certificate.

Furthermore, UPL clubs were directed to operate a women’s football team, competing in either the FUFA Women Super League or the FUFA Women Elite League, with all women’s teams commanded to have affiliation to either a Uganda Premier League or FUFA Big League club.
