Confidence-filled Namuwongo Blazers put up another impressive show to beat Power 76-68 in the National Basketball League on Friday at Lugogo.

In so doing, the Blazers completed a regular season double over their opponents, having won 74-57 in the first round.

The result also helped them ascend top of the table, and are in pole position of finishing number one in the regular season.

They have now won 11 successive games, and now are locked at 16-4 along with the City Oilers. The former tops proceedings though, because of superior head to head.

Nam Blazers will have avoided to meet either of City Oilers or UCU Canons at the playoffs first pairing, if they can maintain top-spot.

On the evening however, Power were only one point adrift of the Blazers headed into the final quarter, but the latter put up a 9-1 thread with three minutes left.

Bernes Akankunda’s Power were a better side than in the first round encounter but could not avoid an eighth loss of the campaign.

Nam Blazers’s Ariel Okall put up a game high 19 points plus 13 rebounds. Deng Dikong and Paul Odong managed 13 and 12 points respectively.
