Uganda has no option but to better their Day One performance at the Junoir Golf World Cup when they tee off Day Two today.
The youngsters recorded wanting displays in the first round at the par-71 Chukyo Golf Club Ishino Course in Toyota City yesterday.
Ibrahim Ssemakula produced Uganda’s top three scores in the first round as he returned five-over 76.
This wasn’t enough to save face as Uganda is at rock bottom in 12th place. Hosts Japan top the table followed by Germany and Canada respectively.
Uganda is not only facing far better competition on the green and stage fought only, but the humidity is also quite high.
But, according to their coach, Uganda’s legendary golfer Flavia Namakula, the team can put in a better shift if they stick to the plan.
“Poor start and it’s hard to defend. We didn’t play according to our game plan as pressure won the day.”
Namakula added that now focus is on today (Wednesday) and believes her team has enough fire to produce better scores.
