High tower forward Joram Kalyesubula scored the only goal that saw Kiboga-based Bamusuuta FC defeat Wamala group leaders Matugga United 1-0 at Bamusuuta SS ground in the Buganda Region 4th Division.
The goal, scored in the first half of the game played on Saturday, April 18, guided Bamusuuta FC to a comeback from a 2-1 loss on the road to Nabbingo FC last weekend.
The goal took the young star to 12 goals, keeping him as the top scorer, as his team reached 23 points, 12 points behind the leader.
With Bamusuuta FC shocking the leaders, they have denied them an advantage to extend their lead beyond 10 points, which appeared mid-week when Happy Boyz Kagaba were shocked by Kavumba Elite with 3-2.
In other games on April 18, Entebbe FC was the only team in the top five to win, beating Nabbingo FC 2-1. Happy Boyz Kagaba were held by Mpugi Mixed 0-0, while Kiyinda Young were beaten by Kiwanga United 1-0.
Meanwhile, Kavumba Elite continue to rally their relegation fight with a 2-0 win over Garuga Star, though it was unfortunate, as Kiwanga’s win kept Kavumba under the red line.
