The 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League Champions Kampala Queens FC have opened talks with Crested Cranes defender Shadia Nankya.

The Queens of soccer are interested in signing of Ucu Lady Cardinals center back to strengthen their defense.

The former Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC captain will graduate this year and this will ease her transfer to Kampala Queens FC.

It’s believed that the 2019 FUFA Women’s Cup top scorer is also interested in the joining the club.

The 21-year-old defender is expected to sign a two-year contract with Kampala Queens.

Nankya captained Crested Cranes to win their maiden CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship in 2022.

She later missed to make it to the final squad in WAFCON due to knee injury.

The defender underwent a successful knee surgery and returned to action towards the end of the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League.

Kampala Queens FC has already signed Fazila Ikwaput, Shakirah Nyinagahirwa, Hadijah Nandago, Samalie Nakacwa, Patience Nabulobi and Catherine Nagadya.

Kampala Queens FC will represent Uganda in the forthcoming CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal qualifiers slated for August this year in Uganda.
