The defending champions St.Mary’s SSS Kitende needed a spirited 1-2 win over Standard High School Zzana to book the third slot in the last four.
Kitende scored first through Habib Oloya off Hakim Mutebi‘s well-weighted pass inside the box to fire past the goalkeeper.
Zzana equalized through Hamza Ntagojera who scored with his right foot thanks to a good delivery off a corner.
Kitende restored the lead through Ronald Madoi‘s header off Justin Opiro‘s long throw-in which Zzana failed to deal with.
The hard-fought 1-2 win saw the side also book a place in the FEASSSA games to be played in Rwanda.
Standard High Zzana coach Juma Yiga appreciated the boys’ fight despite losing to Kitende in this National Football Championship game.
“We missed some of our key players due to injuries, we congratulate Kitende and wish all the qualified teams the best.”
