Masaka Giants reaffirmed their place at the top of Ugandan ludo by successfully defending their National Super League title as the 2025 season ended on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
A calm 3โ1 win over Namugongo Arena on the final day sealed a second straight championship for the Wolves.
Played from April 6, 2025, to mid-January 2026 on a demanding home and away schedule, the season tested every side.
Masaka Giants passed with authority, finishing top with 43 points, built on consistency, composure and big performances at key moments.
Central to that success was Matovu Huzaifa, whose influence across the campaign earned him the Most Valuable Player award.ย

His sharp reading of the game, timely decisions and leadership under pressure proved decisive in guiding the Giants to back to back titles.
The trophy was handed over by Uganda Ludo Federation Vice President for Technical Affairs Ssalongo Lubega Vincent, standing in for the federation president.
He praised Masaka Giants for setting the standard and urged clubs to prepare early for what he said would be a tougher, more competitive season ahead.
Ssalongo also applauded the leagueโs improved discipline, pointing to the low number of red cards as a sign of growing professionalism, and credited fans for creating a positive and supportive atmosphere throughout the season.
Nansana Galaxy pushed hard and finished second on 39 points, with Kazo Hill close behind in third on 38.
Nansana All Stars and Kampala Pirates completed the top five, with Pirates also recognised as the most outstanding club for punctuality, compliance and discipline.

While the final day brought drama across the league, Masaka Giantsโ controlled finish told the real story.
With celebrations fading, the Uganda Ludo Federation confirmed that the 2026 calendar will be released soon, ushering in another season of high competition.
