The trio of Moses Tushabe, Thomas Opio, and Collin Batusa shined as Weatherhead destroyed Thunders 6-1 at Lugogo grounds.

Coach Steven Jjuuko‘s team scored three unanswered goals with Opio’s brace arriving in this quarter, and so did Batusa’s first goal.

The table leaders went on to bag two more, with Tushabe and Batusa completing their braces.

Mushraf Mugisha scored a consolation for his team in the third quarter.

Weatherhead’s title rival Wananchi needed a last-quarter goal from Jordan Achaye to edge Rockets 2-1 on Sunday.

Rockets took the lead through Frank Wambalya, but James Larombi initiated the comeback that Achaye completed.

Kampala Hockey Club drew 1-1 with City Lions, their sister club KHC Originals also drew 2-2 against Badgers, while Makerere Stingers thrashed Weatherhead Titans 8-2.

Weatherhead remains top of the table after this round of play, but only on goal difference as Wananchi are level, on 19 points, with them.

Rockets stay third despite the defeat, and the Titans who have lost all their games this season are rock bottom with zero points
