Kasozi who came from behind surprised Chadiga’s fans after winning from 7-3 to level before Chadiga pulled back one to lead again.

Kasozi went on to win the last two frames to lift the trophy over favourite Chadiga who eased past Ibra Sejjemba 7-1 in the semi-finals.

In the ladies’ category, Rashidah Mutesi continued her dominance, winning the third consecutive Championship.

Rasheeda became the first player to win the Championship for 3 consecutive years after seeing Ritah Nimusima 8-3.

It was sweet revenge for Mutesi defeating Nimusima who bested her in the National Open Pool Championship finals four years ago.
