Uganda’s senior basketball teams, the Silverbacks and the Gazelles, will make their maiden appearance at the Islamic Solidarity Games, slated for Konya, Turkey.
The 3×3 games will transpire at the Karatay Sports and Congress Center for four days, between August 13-17.
Both teams are under the guidance of the UCU Coach Nicholas Natuhereza and training has been going on for a week.
At the games, Uganda will as well be represented in Swimming and Athletics with a number of other disciplines too.
Silverbacks Team – Tonny Drilleba, David Okello, Titus Lual, James Okello
Gazelles Team– Zainah Angellah Lokwameri, Ritah Imanishimwe, Maureen Amoding, Hope Akello
Men
•Pool B – Uganda, Iran, Maldives, Guyana and Mauritania
Women
•Pool A – Uganda, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Gambia
