Shariph Kimbowa has completed his move from Wakiso Giants FC to Startimes Uganda Premier League side URA FC on a two-year contract.

Kimbowa scored nine goals in 24 games for Wakiso Giants last season, and his performances caught the eye of URA FC.

Kimbowa has a wealth of experience in the Ugandan league, having previously played for Busoga United and Wakiso Giants. He is also a former Uganda U-20 international.

Shariph Kimbowa’s move to URA FC means he has reunited with former teammates at Wakiso in Aliro Moses Okabo and Joshua Letti Lubwama as well as goalkeeping coach Swaibu Ssebagala.

Earlier URA FC confirmed the signing of defender Enock Walusimbi on a two-year contract to strengthen their backline.

Kimbowa becomes the eleventh signing at URA in the current transfer window after Kisiriko Denis Luzige, Kisolo John Innocent, Amis Bwangani, Godfrey Sekibengo, Aliro Moses Okabo, Ibrahim Wammanah, Denis Otim, Norman Namanya, Enock Walusimbi and Rogers Omedwa.

URA FC are targeting to win the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League title, a feat they last achieved in 2010/11.

The signing of Shariph Kimbowa is a major boost for their chances of success.
