Tanzanian giants Simba Queens have signed Ugandan striker Joanita Ainembabazi on a one-year renewable contract.
The 20-year-old forward joins Simba Queens from the 2021/22 FUFA Women Super League Champions She Corporate FC.
She has previously featured for Ceasiaa Queens, She Corporate FC, Rines SS WFC and Tooro Queens FC.
Ainembabazi is a prolific goalscorer and has a proven track record of success in the Ugandan and Tanzanian leagues.
She scored 6 goals in the first round of the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League before joining Ceasiaa Queens in Tanzania on loan.
In Tanzania, she scored 8 goals for Ceasiaa Queens in the second round of Serengeti Elite Women’s Premier League.
Simba Queens are the CAF Champions League CECAFA region reigning champions and were inspired by Ainembabazi’s performance at Ceasiaa Queens.
They are hoping that she can help them to regain their title in the 2023/24 season.
Ainembabazi is currently in the Crested Cranes camp in Rwanda as they wait to take on the She Amavubi in 2024 Olympic Qualifiers.
She was part of the Crested Cranes final squad that represented the country in the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The signing of Ainembabazi is a major coup for Simba Queens and they will be hoping that she can help them to achieve their goals in the upcoming season.
