Uganda’s Donald Rukare elected ANOCA Zone V President

Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) President Donald Rukare has been elected as the new President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) Zone V for the next four-year term.

His election was confirmed during the General Assembly held on March 9, 2025, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

This milestone underlines Rukare’s dedication and leadership in advancing the Olympic movement, both in Uganda and across the continent.

Expressing his gratitude, Rukare shared his vision for the future;

“I am honoured to start this new journey as President of ANOCA Zone V. I don’t take for granted the role entrusted to me and the entire team. The goal is to promote sports made in Africa on and off the field.”

ANOCA Zone V comprises 11 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) from Eastern Africa including Burundi, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
