2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Wednesday April 29, 2026 | MD 26
- KCCA FC Vs Vipers SC – Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo | 8 pm
“We know exactly what this game represents,” KCCA FC co-head coach Brian Ssenyondo said, setting the tone ahead of Wednesday’s decisive Premier League clash against Vipers SC at Phillip Omondi Stadium.

“We are playing at home, and our fans deserve a performance that reflects the weight of this jersey. We have prepared well, and we shall give a deserved performance.”
Those words capture the pressure and urgency hanging over KCCA FC as their title hopes hang by a thread.

Seven points behind the leaders with only five games left, the Kasasiro Boys must win to stay alive in the race and reduce the gap to four, while also hoping Vipers slip in the final stretch.
But the task is steep, Vipers arrive in Lugogo top of the table with 58 points and in strong form after a 3-0 win over Entebbe UPPC.
A victory for the Venoms would effectively end KCCA’s challenge and push them closer to an eighth league title.
KCCA, under Ssenyondo and co-coach Jackson Magera, are still recovering from a 1-0 loss to Calvary.
Their squad has some uncertainty. Herbert Achai missed that defeat due to his wedding, while Filbert Obenchan, Emmanuel Anyama, and Kennedy Muserero could return after missing the trip to Yumbe.
However, Derrick Nsibambi, James Mubeezi, Enock Walusimbi, and Bright Anukani remain long-term absentees.
Vipers also have a setback, with goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza ruled out through injury. Usama Arafat who started on the bench against UPPC could return to the starting XI.

History slightly favours the visitors. Vipers are unbeaten in the last four meetings against KCCA, winning three and drawing one.
KCCA’s last win came in March 2024, a dramatic late penalty victory at Kitende.
The numbers, however, offer mixed hope for the hosts. KCCA have lost six matches this season, the most among the top four and conceded 19 goals.
Vipers have lost just once on the pitch and remain the league’s most solid defence, conceding only 12.
Still, Lugogo has been a stronghold for KCCA, with just one home defeat all season.
Elsewhere, we shall witness, Buhimba United Saints host Lugazi in Butema, while Entebbe UPPC face Calvary in Bugonga, and Police take on UPDF in Kamwokya, all kicking off at 4pm.
