The FUFA Disciplinary Panel has sanctioned Express FC and Lugazi FC’s Alfred Leku following separate incidents, showing the need for discipline and proper matchday standards as the league season winds down.

Express FC was punished after an incident in their April 21 match against NEC FC, where an ambulance failed to evacuate injured player Richard Basangwa due to a mechanical fault.

The panel found the club in breach of Rule 39(4), which requires a functional ambulance at every match.

The club has been fined UGX 1,000,000, payable within 14 days, and warned to meet medical requirements going forward.

In a separate case, Lugazi FC’s Leku Alfred was sanctioned for misconduct during the April 25 game against Kitara FC.

He was found guilty of striking a referee with a water bottle.

The panel ruled it as violent conduct against a match official, handing him a five match suspension across all FUFA competitions.

With five games left this season, his campaign is effectively over, and any remaining suspension will carry into next season.

Leku was also fined UGX 500,000 and warned over his future behavior.
