The second day of the Victoria Series ended with tournament favourites UAE losing their second game and Rwanda securing their first win of the tourney.

Day 2: Match 1

Hosted by Lugogo Cricket Oval, UAE set a very decent score of 138 against Tanzania but were unable to defend it as the Tanzanians blossomed in their innings.

Fatuma Omary Kibasu, the captain of the side opened the batting with Saum Godfrey Mtae, and the duo put on board a combined 72 runs which set the pace for the Tanzanians.

The two were sent back to the dugout inside the tenth Over, but by the time the 18th Over arrived, Huda Mrisho Omary (27) and Neema Justine Pius (20) had got the job done.

And as such, Tanzania won the game by 7 wickets. It was their first game of the tournament and one that gave them a perfect start.

Day 2: Match 2

In the afternoon game, Rwanda got their first win of the tournament in form of a 47 run victory against Kenya.

Both sides lost their opening day games, and both needed redemption, and it was Rwanda who took the day.

The game had been threatened by the afternoon showers and was as a result reduced to 14 Overs due to time.

Rwanda scored 88 runs in those 14 Overs, with Sarah Uwera (19), Clarisse Umutoniwase (23), and Henrietta Ishimwe (26) leading the strike.

When their time to field arrived, Rwanda ensured only one Kenya player, Sharon Juma (13) recorded runs in double figures.

Rwanda exhibited a decent attack that saw five of their six bowlers pick at least a wicket on their way to convincing defending their score.

It is a result that keeps Rwanda dreaming of winning the trophy. They take a one-day break tomorrow and will return to action on Friday against UAE.

Kenya meanwhile, will seek to make amends tomorrow when they face Tanzania in the morning game.
