Uganda and Burkina Faso played out a tense two-all draw in their final encounter of the 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations at the Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca on Friday.
Uganda, desperate for an early goal, got it through a sixth minute strike by Kunihira after a good lofted pass from midfielder Shamirah Nalugya.
Burkina Faso were dealt a huge blow after Madinatou Roumba was sent off in the 17th minute for dangerous play.
However, the Burkinabe somehow found a leveller after Adama Congo’s brilliant solo run in the 35th minute.
Three minutes later, Uganda restored their lead through another neat goal, by Nabweteme to bring back their qualification hopes.
However, the mad half was not about to end as Burkina Faso somehow equalized five minutes later, through Naome Adele Kadre’s goal, to cap off the half.
Uganda pressed for a second half goal but it was not to happen as a number of chances could not be converted.
The result implies both Uganda and Burkina Faso are out of the coveted tournament.
