The opening day of the Waterfalls T2O League, Women’s Edition saw Itanda Kayakers and Sipi Trekkers picking up wins at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
It was a doubleheader day for Sipi Trekkers who lost the morning game to Itanda Kayakers by 7 wickets but were able to bounce back in the afternoon with a comprehensive 7 wicket win over the Bujjagali Rafters.
Proscovia Alako was the star of the day with an exciting 80 runs off 57 balls that included 5 mighty sixes as she helped her Itanda Kayaker’s side pick up the first win of the tournament.
In the afternoon, Sipi Trekkers fielded better as they restricted a star-studded Bujjagali Rafters to only 82 runs before timing their run chase to perfection and closing out a much-needed victory.
After Day One action, only Bujjagali doesn’t have a win with Itanda Kayakers on top of the table.
Itanda Kayakers have a double header today against Bujjagali Rafters in the morning and Sipi Trekkers in the afternoon.
